About The Position

The Academic Coaching Specialist at Coastal Carolina University plays a crucial role in supporting student success and retention through proactive and reactive academic coaching. This position involves managing a caseload of students, teaching academic strategy classes, and conducting interventions for students facing academic challenges. The specialist will also assist students in navigating campus resources and represent the department at various events, contributing to the overall goals of the Coastal Student Success Center.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of students within specialized retention programs, including academic probation and advisory.
• Teach three sections of ACED 101: Academic Strategy Development, responsible for instruction, class management, and grading.
• Conduct interventions for students receiving academic alerts, maintaining documentation of outreach and results.
• Assist students in navigating academic and non-academic resources on campus and in the community.
• Hold individual academic coaching appointments for students who receive alerts or self-select for coaching.
• Represent the Academic Coaching Department at campus events and conduct workshops or presentations for campus partners.

• Salary range: $38,985.00 (minimum) - $55,559.00 (midpoint).
• Normal work hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm.
