About The Position

Specialist will deliver a superior new hire experience for academic populations (including full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and others) by providing a high level of customer service and maintaining quality throughout the pre-employment onboarding process. Ensure the completion and accuracy of all pre-employment processes and forms according to policies and guidelines, while maintaining data integrity. In order to ensure a seamless onboarding process, interact with new hires, school/unit points of contact, Human Resources, and other areas of the University as needed. Ensure accuracy and compliance with faculty lifecycle data gathering and reporting.

Requirements

  • Required Education:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Required Experience:2+ years relevant experience in customer service, data maintenance, onboarding operations, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to administer business processes and requests consistently with general supervision.
  • Ability to assess problems and promptly resolve or identify appropriate teams to resolve.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and collaborate across the University at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail and ability to manage individual assignments.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to creatively and logically solve problems and multi-task effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to be tactful and diplomatic in dealing with difficult issues and/or diverse populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Experience:2+ years Experience in a shared services environment
  • Knowledge of the Workday HRIS system, faculty information systems, and reporting environment.
  • Understanding of University HR and NYU policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of service request management tools.
  • Working knowledge and use of office productivity tools and web-based applications.
