About The Position

The Academic Advisor guides prospective and current students through the admissions process, curriculum requirements, and career planning to ensure their academic success and retention. Advisors in this specialized role must be knowledgeable about the specific, and often competitive, requirements of nursing programs and the nursing profession. Research College of Nursing is a private, non-sectarian, fully accredited institution of higher learning. We are located in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. We offer a Bachelor of Science (B.S.N.) and a Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) with three graduate tracks, an RN-MSN entry point option, and three post-Masters certificate choices. Our 13:1 student-faculty ratio nurtures rich campus discussions and wide opportunities for student scholarship and development. Over 400 students are enrolled at the Research College of Nursing. Approximately 65% are undergraduates and 35% are graduate students. We embody the mission and heart of HCA MidAmerica. Requirements

Bachelors Degree required
1 year required or 3 years preferred experience in an academic setting
Knowledge of Jenzabar (student based) system
High Level of organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a culturally diverse environment
