Major Duties PLEASE NOTE: The position will be filled at either the Student Services Professional SSP IB, or SSP II level dependent upon the applicant's qualifications: * SSP IB: This is a formal, structured training program designed to develop those skills and abilities required for the performance of the full range of advisor duties. This is a progressive training program that will last up to 12 months. Under direct supervision during the training period and general supervision thereafter, the Academic Advising Assistant is responsible for providing academic advisement to students in the David Nazarian College of Business & Economics. The position supports, advocates, and facilitates the mission of California State University, Northridge, and the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) by encouraging first-generation, low-income students to seek higher educational opportunities and achieve academic excellence. Performs other duties as assigned. * SSP II: Under general supervision, the Academic Advisor is responsible for providing academic advisement to students in the David Nazarian College of Business & Economics.
