About The Position
Under the general supervision, this position provides advising to assist students in the transition to college life. The advisor/mentor will support students from their entry into the university until they earn and/or transfer enough hours to total 31 or more. This role includes conducting pre-registration advising sessions for new freshmen students and teaching the First Year Experience course (ORI 101) in both the fall and spring terms. The advisor will track student participation in ORI 101 and 102 courses and report on advising activities, while maintaining a cooperative relationship with academic departments and student affairs components responsible for student services.
