Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a college environment working within student development or academic advising.
• Proven ability to perform assigned administrative duties focused on supporting advising, recruitment, and retention efforts.
• Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor's or higher in biological sciences, health sciences, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with Ellucian/Banner.

Responsibilities

• Meet with continuing, new, and prospective students in the Department of Biological, Physical and Health Sciences.
• Provide accurate and current curricular information on undergraduate programs.
• Assist in short-term and long-term academic program planning.
• Refer students to other support services/units on campus.
• Provide assistance with program changes, including class drops, adds, and major changes.
• Assist in recruitment and retention efforts to progress students toward graduation.
