About The Position

The Academic Advisor 1 position at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is responsible for providing academic advising and related student services for undergraduates in the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Natural Resources (CABNR). Requirements

• A bachelor's degree and 1 year of related work experience or a master's degree and no work experience required.
• Related experience in a field related to student support, human services, education, or related advising position.

Nice To Haves

• A valid Class 'C' driver's license or higher operator's license within 30 days of appointment for traveling purposes.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising and related student services for undergraduates in CABNR.
• Assist the Director with retention, advising, and recruitment activities.
• Advise students on academic requirements and procedures.
• Connect students to appropriate resources on campus to foster student success.
• Advocate for the needs of individual students and groups of students.
• Work closely with students and faculty advisors on academic progress and curricular issues.
