About The Position

Responsibilities

  • Assess student development (academic, career, and personal) and promote academic growth.
  • Advise students on academic and career issues; identify educational and career options appropriate for each student.
  • Advise students on general education; identify options for students to satisfy degree requirements.
  • Monitor academic progress of students; determine eligibility and satisfactory progress toward degree.
  • Interpret and explain advising policies and procedures.
  • Participate in preparation of orientations and present academic information to new students and parents during orientation.
  • Evaluate transfer credits from other academic institutions for equivalencies and application to degree program.
  • Maintain student files, records, and database; document all pertinent student information.
  • Assist students in exploring research opportunities and scholarships.
  • Process degree checks/audits for students planning to graduate.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of seminars, workshops, and other activities/events.
  • Help coordinate the annual EEB Undergraduate Research Poster Session and recruit EEB Undergraduate Ambassadors.
