About The Position

POSTION OVERVIEW: The Academic Access Specialist supports district initiatives that promote academic opportunities, multilingual achievement, and family engagement. This position plays a key role in the administration of supporting the implementation of empowering curriculum, assisting with magnet initiatives, and assisting with coordinating a variety of academic and family engagement activities. The Academic Access Specialist serves as a bridge between students, families, schools, and district programs to ensure that all learners have equitable access to high-quality educational experiences

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced coursework in education, curriculum, or related field preferred.
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and families.
  • Knowledge of inclusive curriculum practices and assessment processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across schools, departments, and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of empowering curriculum practices aligned with district goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and instructional staff to provide resources that support all learners.
  • Support professional learning opportunities related to access, inclusion, and multilingual education.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of district magnet programs.
  • Contribute to the development and distribution of marketing and outreach materials to promote magnet offerings.
  • Coordinate and participate in academic and family engagement events such as workshops and cultural celebrations.
  • Serve as a liaison for multilingual families, ensuring they receive clear communication and support in navigating district programs.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.
  • Support district and school-level initiatives as assigned by leadership.
  • Participate in committees, working groups, and professional development related to academic access and inclusion.
  • Perform additional academic-related duties to advance student success and access.
