This is a part-time position with 2nd shift hours requiring weekend availability. SUMMARY: The 2nd shift utility stylist will be an integral part of the closing process for the AC Style team. They will be responsible for filling the gaps of what is needed at the end of each morning shift by completing a variety of tasks. As such, flexibility is essential for success in this role. The 2nd shift utility stylist may be asked to assist with cleaning rooms, processing laundry, public area cleanliness, or room inspections and will be expected the maintain the same 96% quality expectations already established for each of those positions. They must also ensure that guest service expectations align with the AC Hotel standard in addition to meeting budgetary goals and maintaining interdepartmental relations.

Requirements

  • Be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Must be reliable and flexible with schedule; willing to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to complete and inspect 8 vacant dirty rooms with-in 8-hour shift

  • Ability to use different types of chemicals
  • Requires the ability to work independently and follow directions as assigned by supervisors
  • Must be able to complete standards according to established procedures
  • Strive to meet guest satisfaction by cleaning at a 96% cleanliness standard
  • Must keep cart clear of unapproved items to avoid damage
  • Learn how to operate all of the equipment in the laundry area
  • Learn the various operational functions and duties of each area of laundry (Chute/Sort, Folding, Washing, and Drying)
  • Must ensure service standards are met consistently
  • Must ensure expectations for personal morale are upheld
  • Report to work on time with proper uniform. Personal appearance must comply with the standard of the hotel
  • Participates in department meetings and communicates freely expressing ideas, opinions or views. Communicates with management and other staff members
  • Participate in hotel mandated trainings and meetings as determined by leadership
  • Incorporate AC service mantras and ideals into all functions of the job duties.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have previous housekeeping or laundry experience

Responsibilities

  • Room Cleaning
  • Clean all areas of the guest room as determined by the detailed training outline
  • Clean checkouts at a 30 minute per room pace
  • Clean stayovers at a 15 minute per room pace
  • Deliver all guest requests within 15 minutes
  • Work independently in assigned work area (as determined by daily assignment paperwork) to complete the predetermined workload which can range up to 19 rooms per shift.
  • Report maintenance issues in rooms to housekeeping supervisor
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and housemen on needs and progress
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
  • Ensure a clean and neat work area at all times (Work area does include cleanliness of your cart)
  • Laundry Attendant
  • Stock assigned landings with linens, terry, supplies, and robes
  • Strip rooms per shift as assigned
  • Complete all cleanliness projects on landings and guest floors as assigned by supervisors
  • Communicate effectively with the laundry department on required linen needs
  • Folds sheets, table linen, napkins, terry and pillowcases to standard
  • Sort, Load, unload, and run the washers & dryers
  • Reads and understands all memos that pertain to the laundry department
  • Follow our hotel green policies
  • Public Area Cleaner
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all public spaces including: Lobby/Public Restrooms, Eames Room, AC Library, Fitness Center, AC Breakfast area, Back of House areas, and Administrative Area
  • Must be able to communicate orally and verbally in English
  • Deliver all guest requests within 15 minutes
  • Must be able to sweep, mop, and use floor scrubbing equipment
  • Room Inspections
  • Inspect guest rooms and ensure a 96% quality standard
  • Follow up on VC rooms as assigned
  • Communicate effectively with other departments as needed, for example Front Office and Engineering
  • Any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by General Manager, Operations Manager, or Supervisor
  • Follow AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures
