General Summary Oversees and administers HR Absence Management programs and processes. Responsibilities include managing Paid Time Off plans, Leaves of Absence, Workers' Compensation, Eligibility determinations, Disability accommodations, Return-to-Work procedures, system interfaces, workflow coordination, and reporting activities. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: S upports alignment of standard business processes with WellSpan's requirements and identifies gaps. Plans and coordinates the execution of key change management activities. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of HR Absence employee benefits as they relate to leaves of absence, including short/long term disability, Family and Medical Leave Act ("FMLA"), Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"), Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act ("USERRA"), Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and other applicable laws. Oversees the support of all Absence Management policies and practices while providing exemplary customer service and assistance. Leads new processes and procedures identifying and confirming reporting requirements. Preserves confidentiality of team members in accordance with HIPAA and Employee Privacy standards. Participates, plans and executes system testing. Leads ad hoc projects including research, metric development, oversight and development of a comprehensive approach and presentation of facts and process to all levels of team members tailored to the audience. Represents Absence Management and provides knowledge documents, develops and maintains workflows and standards of work. Assists in communications delivery related to new or changing initiatives. Effectively supports the management of third-party administrator vendor relationship. Maintains communications with team members on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return-to-work. Relays communications between employees and managers during leave. Navigates difficult conversations, situations and provides resources. Administers the return-to-work process for employees returning from leaves of absence, including partnering with the ADA Committee. Coordinates with management, timekeepers, Human Resources, and Payroll regarding concerns, including pay related, due to a leave of absence or other Absence Management policy and process with identified gap, lessons learned necessary corrections. Common Expectations: Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses, summaries and statements. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
