Kamatics is seeking an Abrasive Machinist IV - Grinder (2nd Shift) who performs multiple machining operations as part of the production process within the assigned cell, operating grinding and/or honing equipment to meet precise tolerance and finish specifications.

  • Independently set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate centerless grinding, center grinding, or honing machines on a diversified line of work requiring intermediate-level skill
  • Perform machine setups involving an understanding of manufacturing order of operations and combinations of processes
  • Work from operation sheets and machine setup instructions
  • Select and adjust work-holding methods, work supports, stones, wheel speeds, wheel dressing, and machine parameters
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; follow all safety and environmental procedures and report incidents as required
  • Recommend improvements to work processes and actively participate in 5S initiatives
  • Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Support cross-training and learning of additional positions; perform other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience as a grinding operator OR
  • Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience
  • Knowledge of abrasive wheel and stone technology
  • Ability to select appropriate inspection methods based on GD&T requirements
  • Proficient in shop math
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and training to less experienced team members
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to troubleshoot programming and process issues
  • Working knowledge of feed rate, surface finish, and surface speed relationships across standard aerospace materials
  • Dependability: Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions with appropriate supervision
