Reporting to the Project Manager, the Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for training and supervising janitors and team leads in the performance of their duties to ensure compliance of contract standards and specifications.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older and be able to pass a background check
  • The Supervisor will be a proven leader with the following:
  • Confidence in their ability to perform as a supervisor
  • Strong work ethic, character and integrity
  • Solid judgment and common sense in decision making
  • A positive, supportive attitude to staff and customers
  • Recognition of and avoidance of any conflict of interest with staff, product or customers
  • Effective, appropriate and professional communication and demeanor
  • Recognition of and adherence to a higher standard as a member of management
  • Ability to effectively handle difficult customer issues
  • The incumbent should have a minimum of 1 year experience in supervision
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Solid comfort level with utilizing all aspects of computers to complete the job, not limited to; Windows environment and internet use On-line training and web-based meetings
  • Basic understanding of legal requirements regarding employment
  • Math ability at a level that would allow for accurate time studies

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assigning duties to employees for cleaning contract areas within the premises, providing training to correct deficiencies.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in the management of employees with disabilities in self- improvement of work-skills, work behavior or other elements that will enhance the individual's opportunity to obtain competitive employment.
  • Accurately performing or supervising the time study evaluations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Effectively and accurately documenting performance issues for files or Case Management
  • Recommending improved methods to Project Management to improve efficiency and quality
  • Keeping records on supplies, inspecting equipment for damage or wear
  • Maintaining cleaning schedule records and equipment maintenance records
  • Notifying project management of unusual situations pertaining to employees, equipment or contract compliance
  • Meeting deadlines and special requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Inspecting assigned work daily to insure timely completion to contract standard
  • In concert with the QC Specialist, assuring that deficiencies are addressed and appropriate training occurs
  • Resolving complaints as necessary to maintain contract compliance Safety:
  • Ensuring all staff performs duties according to safety expectations and procedures
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained and functioning properly
  • Communicating safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution with appropriate personnel
  • All other duties as required by the Project Manager
