About The Position

The Department of Surgery at Temple Health is seeking a fellowship-trained multi-organ transplant surgeon to join its growing program. The successful candidate should have the ability to perform liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation, living donor nephrectomy, transplant-related hepatobiliary surgery, and organ procurement, with the opportunity to participate in pediatric kidney transplantation. The Abdominal Organ Transplant Service performs kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants , as well as living donor nephrectomies , and provides coverage for deceased donor organ procurement through the local organ procurement organization. The program also performs pediatric kidney transplantation at a local pediatric hospital. Requirements

  • M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent
  • Board certification or board eligibility in General Surgery
  • Completion of, or current enrollment in, an ASTS-accredited Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to employment

Responsibilities

  • Perform liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation
  • Perform living donor nephrectomy
  • Perform transplant-related hepatobiliary surgery
  • Perform organ procurement
  • Participate in pediatric kidney transplantation
  • Provide coverage for deceased donor organ procurement through the local organ procurement organization
