About The Position

About the role & program: ABC News is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and digitally savvy Social Media Intern to join our team. This intern will play a key role in supporting the production of social-first content across 24/7 digital platforms, with a focus on ABC News handles. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with high-profile talent, producers, and digital teams to help shape how ABC News & Good Morning America stories are told and shared on social media, specifically across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and Threads. This is a hands-on, fast-paced opportunity ideal for someone passionate about digital storytelling, breaking news, and social media. The intern would have a full roster of content planning and collaboration across teams, with opportunities to shadow leaders and contribute meaningfully to the ABC News brand. This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the New York, New York area from June 2026-January 2027.

Requirements

  • Previous experience (academic or internship) in journalism (print or broadcast or digital); television, news and news media production; and/or television news script writing; social media management
  • The candidate should be comfortable with video editing.
  • This role requires editing videos using Adobe Premiere, creating graphics using Canva and Photoshop and writing captions for all social platforms using SEO best practices
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Junior or Senior year required
  • Major or previous coursework in Communications and Journalism, or related major preferred
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from June 2026 through January 2027
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday, primarily, and occasionally nights and weekends for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Responsibilities
