About The Position
Step into a truly special role at Abbot’s Passage Winery and Mercantile, the personal vision of 5th-generation vintner and the first female winemaker in the Bundschu family, Katie Bundschu. Located on a beautiful, historic property just off Madrone Road, Abbot’s Passage is more than a tasting room—it’s an immersive wine experience. Wines are crafted onsite, featuring Rhône varietals, field blends, and small-lot, experimental wines that invite storytelling and connection. This role offers a unique opportunity to represent distinctive wines, engage with both trade and consumers, and play a key part in shaping how our story is shared in the market.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience in wine sales, education, or hospitality
- Strong knowledge of wine, with a passion for storytelling and guest engagement
- Experience working with distributors and trade partners preferred
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
- Ability to develop training materials and educational content
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Advanced certifications (WSET, CMS, etc.) are a plus
Responsibilities
- Lead wine education efforts for both internal teams and external partners
- Develop and deliver training programs for distributor sales teams and field representatives
- Conduct engaging winery tours, tastings, and seminars for trade and consumer groups
- Represent the winery at events, including wine dinners, seminars, and industry functions
- Support field sales initiatives by creating educational tools and resources
- Partner with sales leadership to align education with sales goals and market needs
- Plan and execute food and wine pairing experiences for trade visits
- Present wines and brand stories to key accounts, including retailers and restaurateurs
- Assist with special events and winery activations as needed
