About The Position

The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family-owned company with our corporate headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We have a current opening for an ABAP Developer in our Information Services Department at our corporate office. This ABAP Developer is responsible for authoring technical specifications, developing and enhancing SAP applications, and planning and conducting related testing within the Warehouse Management, Sales and Distribution, and Finance functional areas. Utilize the ABAP workbench for writing new and modifying existing ABAP and List Viewer (ALV) reports, user exits, Business Add-Ins (BADI’s), Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI), Intermediate Documents (IDOC’s) and dialogue programs. Perform workflow programming, develop test strategy, create test data, and run tests to ensure business continuity; resolve performance issues, and write technical specifications from functional design specifications. Must have a complete understanding of system design and how it supports Company business in addition to a strong understanding of core business processes. Will be working other developers and business analysts to prepare test plans and/or detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written, and upgrade/enhance the SAP application. Will be handling small/medium projects starting with requirement gathering, feasibility study, development, implementation and post-production support. Education and/or Experience Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science is a plus) or equivalent training and experience, 5+ years of ABAP experience in WM, SD, MM, and FI/CO. Additional experience in at least 5 full life cycle of projects, from requirements gathering through implementations and support. Must have demonstrated experience independently handling small to medium IT projects through various stages of the project, ABAP workbench including writing new and modifying existing ABAP & ALV reports, user exits, BADIs, BAPIs, IDOCs, dialogue programs and Web Services, Workflow programming, troubleshooting, performance tuning, writing technical specifications from functional design specifications, IDoc processing, EDI/ALE setup and configuration, exposing and consuming webservices to interact with third party applications. Prior experience supporting or participating in ECC to S/4HANA migration projects is preferred. Must also have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and demonstrated knowledge of ABAP Objects, LSMW, Smartforms/Adobe PDF, Interfaces and SAPScripts.
