The Student Support Instructor (SSI), is responsible for working directly with students who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, implementing individualized academic and behavior programs. This position provides instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, including discrete trial instruction, task analysis, and naturalistic teaching techniques. The SSI implements programs to increase appropriate social skills and activities of daily living, and facilitates social interactions when necessary. The SSI at times may need to attend to the personal needs and safety of students, including escorts, toileting, toilet training, and supervision during lunch.
