About The Position

The ABA Paraprofessional supports students with individualized behavioral and academic needs in an elementary school setting. This role involves implementing behavior intervention plans developed by the BCBA, reinforcing positive behaviors, and helping students develop independence and social skills. The paraprofessional works closely with the classroom teacher and BCBA to provide consistent support, build positive relationships with students, and promote academic and social success in the classroom and throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the direction of the BCBA and classroom teacher.
  • Collect and record data on student behaviors and progress toward goals.
  • Support students in both academic and social settings, reinforcing appropriate behaviors and engagement.
  • Collaborate regularly with the classroom teacher and BCBA to adjust strategies and ensure consistency.
  • Promote positive peer interactions and help students develop communication, self-regulation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide direct support during classroom instruction, transitions, specials, and unstructured times as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards at all times.
