About The Position

The Full Time Cargo Agent ITO is responsible for routing inbound and outbound air freight shipments to their destinations. This role includes receiving counter orders from customers, arranging for pickup of freight, and delivering it to the loading platform. The agent assembles cargo according to destination, weighs items, determines costs using established tariffs, and ensures the completeness of loads and even distribution of weight during cargo loading. Additionally, the agent itemizes charges, prepares freight bills, accepts payments, and issues refunds. They also prepare manifests to accompany shipments and adhere to required security procedures and hazardous material handling requirements. The agent unloads inbound freight, notifies consignees upon arrival of shipments, and arranges for delivery. They perform operations related to the loading and unloading of mail, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and must be able to scan and assemble mail according to destination.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
• The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of 75 lbs maximum weight.
• Must be able to qualify and obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection seal.
• Possess a valid driver's license and ability to obtain an Airport Motor Vehicle Operating Permit.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate forklift trucks for loading and unloading freight.
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and is detail-oriented.
• Available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Basic typing and computer skills are required.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Good communication skills.

Benefits

• Starting salary of $20.00 per hour.
