About The Position

Position Summary: Responsible for the planning, execution and verification of the Quality activities in the Flightline phase, starting from the milestone FOT in the FAL to the final delivery to the customer. This includes the demonstration of aircraft system integrity, conformity in accordance to the design specification, and verification of ground test instruction (GTI).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of Quality Inspection experience preferably on A320 Family aircraft in an aviation company
  • Experience in troubleshooting Avionic/Airframe/Powerplant Systems
  • Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans and inspection processes
  • Knowledge of inspection principles, practices, methods and tools used on the production line
  • Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing
  • Extensive knowledge on A320 Family Avionic Systems
  • Clear and precise English communication skills, able to give direction
  • Proven experience in the performance of GTI’s (Ground Test Instruction) Avionic/Airframe/Powerplant System - Basic A/C
  • Eligible for employment in the US.

  • Must be able make decisions quickly while in control of operating aircraft to ensure the safety of personnel and the aircraft
  • Must be able to inspect and attest standard / non-standard work using the correct technical documentation and without bias
  • Vision : adequate to read material (electronic or paper), aircraft gauges, airport signage, safety labels and signage. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing : able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking : able to clearly communicate in English, in person or via electronic means, and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation : Able to operate personal and office electronic equipment. Able to operate Powered Industrial equipment and work on jigs for fuselage access at a height of 15 feet. Able to operate and work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet.
  • Environment will be a mix of office and outdoor activities. Capable of supporting a two shift system and occasional weekends, based on business needs. Willingness to maintain second shift once qualified is preferred.
  • Carrying : able to occasionally carry up to 55 lbs/25kg while engaging in work, training, addressing production issues, or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting : able to occasionally lift up to 55 lbs/25kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling : able to push/pull items in your work environment.
  • Sitting : able to sit for extended periods of time at computer, in meetings, or on aircraft.
  • Squatting/Kneeling : able to work on or in the wing or center wing box, in a confined space. Entrance into the wing by a 9.8 inch x 17.7 inch oval opening. Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing : able to stand for extended periods of time, delivering information.
  • Travel : able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time.
  • Walking : able to walk through office and production areas, around flightline, hangars and ramp, sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Airbus A320 T1 & T2 training preferred
  • Flightline experience preferred
  • FAA issued A & P or EASA Part 66 license preferred (for FAA 14 CFR Part 145 activities after Transfer of Title)
  • or substantial portfolio of documented aircraft maintenance experience, (airframe and powerplant)
  • Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • L3 Flightline Quality Avionic Inspector Release the aircraft for all ground and flight operations (Engine Run-up Inspections, Pre and Post flight checks under EASA Part 21G and after the transfer of title under FAA 14 CFR Part 145). Perform aircraft testing; evaluate results by documenting the tests performed and any discrepancies in the Airbus Log Book (ALB) of the aircraft. Quality inspection of standard and non-standard aircraft production and maintenance activities, including documentation. Support and perform troubleshooting (T/S) on aircraft avionic systems. Support improvement measures, Clarify problems with engineering, customers and suppliers. Ensure aircraft conformity as a Quality Inspector with final signature authorization.
  • FAL-GTE (Final Assembly Line - Ground Test Engineer) Delegation from flight test department (IVR): Perform aircraft ground checks after FOT. Prepare the aircraft and test environment for ground tests on all aircraft systems. Document any nonconformity in the Airbus Log Book (ALB) and request a repeat test instruction (RTI) after finalization of the rework. This qualification requires extensive training and will be initiated after the above mentioned Inspector qualification. Perform ground checks; static system tests, APU run, low and high power engine run, low speed taxi and compass swing in accordance with the Production Aircraft Test Manual (PATM).
  • FAA Part 145 Repair Station Inspector Perform aircraft testing; evaluate / document results of the tests performed and any discrepancies in the Part 145 Work Package of the aircraft. Support and perform troubleshooting (T/S) on aircraft avionic systems. Maintain Part 145 Work Package and perform Release to Service
  • Other duties as assigned
