About The Position

The MIL Corporation is looking for a A/V Technician I to support one or more ongoing AV / Video Teleconferencing (VTC) projects for our Government customers from our Lexington Park, MD location. Those filling these positions will work with Lead Technicians and Engineers to gain valuable experience in AV development technologies. This position currently requires an on-site schedule with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow basic flow diagrams
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Good verbal and written communications abilities
  • Experience using MS Office products
  • Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must maintain a valid passport
  • All applicants for this position must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.
  • High School diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience performing testing and/or integration of electronics equipment
  • JSTD Certification(s)
  • Electrical background (i.e., installation of circuit breakers and other electrical components, works standard computation relating to electrical load requirements of wiring)
  • Current Secret or above security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Stage-2 testing of received A/V equipment.
  • Labels communications infrastructure including cable, panels, patch cords and electronics.
  • Assists tenured Technicians with the installation and mounting of equipment, such as monitors, speakers, and microphones, to ceilings and walls in secure spaces.
  • Assists with the fabrication, termination, and installation of AV cabling.
  • Assists with the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various AV systems.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing existing AV systems.
  • Performs inventory management and record configuration information on installed equipment and software modules.
  • Travel As experience gained and ability is demonstrated, travel will be expected to support on-site installations. Candidates must be willing to travel CONUS, and OCONUS sites up to three weeks at a time. Total travel is approximately 30%.
