The A/V Media Specialist at New Mexico State University will support the multimedia needs of the university, including lectures, athletics, and special events. This role involves developing interactive media and training materials, providing technical guidance, and ensuring the effective use of audio-visual equipment for various university activities.

  • Set up and install all audio visual equipment such as microphones, speakers, and video projection screens for approved NMSU events.
  • Serve as on-site technicians for events including seminars, lectures, concerts, and athletic events.
  • Operate video cameras and have a working knowledge of video and audio production.
  • Troubleshoot issues in a time-sensitive manner during events.
  • Provide end-user training as required to support Media Productions.
  • Maintain inventory of all audio/video equipment and document preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling and tracking the location of all equipment and media assets.
  • Coordinate with programmers, animators, graphic designers, and audio/video production personnel.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • No previous work experience required.
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Knowledge of computer animation programs and production equipment.
  • Skills in utilizing specified computerized graphic design programs.
  • Project planning and organizing skills.
  • Ability to design and implement non-standard computer software education programs.
