About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY The A&R Technician is responsible for assisting in the process of receiving, scheduling and/or referring inquiry calls. Assists the A&R Clinicians, Coordinators and Director with coordinating assessments, initiating Intake paperwork and insurance information. Work with Admission Coordinators to ensure smooth transition into the admission process. Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for: Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; Certified Nursing Assistant or NAR preferred; bachelor's d egree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, psychology, human services, or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred. Experience: Experience working in a hospital intake department or business office, preferred. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment. Process all requests for information and external referrals. Assist with greeting walk-ins and ensuring initial intake paperwork is complete. Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the A&R Clinician . Determine what Releases of Information are needed, and process them accordingly, per policy. Assist in obtaining needed records and information. Assist with compiling charts and distributing to units. Assist in maintaining all statistics; provide support to the Outcome Study, and other data, as assigned.
