About The Position

The Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist plays a crucial role in achieving the financial goals of Madison Resources by managing collections for an assigned client base. This position emphasizes customer service and relationship-building, requiring the specialist to communicate effectively with clients and customers, including C-Level executives, to resolve outstanding accounts receivable. The role is full-time and based in the Portsmouth office, with a standard Monday to Friday schedule.

Requirements

  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel, is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional etiquette are essential.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in an organized manner.
  • Capability to work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated communication, organizational, and follow-up skills are necessary.
  • Collection experience is preferred but not required.
  • A positive 'can-do' attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and customers, including C-Level executives, to deliver exceptional customer service support.
  • Act on behalf of clients when contacting customers for payment resolution, ensuring all communications are polite and professional.
  • Follow and implement Madison's collections processes and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts and identify issues contributing to account delinquency.
  • Review current account status, obtain payment commitments, and document all relevant information in internal account systems.
  • Responsible for customer reconciliations, processing credit memos, write-offs, refunds, and other necessary documentation to resolve outstanding cash issues.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department.
