Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? Pratt & Whitney in Burlington, VT is looking for a L3 Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Tech with an A&P license to join our growing team. The person in this role will perform a variety of duties, including, but not limited to Non-Destructive Inspection duties relating to the overhaul and repair of gas turbine engines. You will perform Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle and Eddy Current inspection methods on various engine components to determine conformance to Overhaul and Repair Manuals and Quality Standards. To succeed in this role, you should have the skills and knowledge to set up equipment, conduct tests, and to interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with the approved procedures. You should be able to organize and document N.D.T. results and be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the proper method being utilized. The regular work schedule for this role will be Monday to Friday day shift hours. Pratt & Whitney in Burlington, VT is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma and typically AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) or equivalent experience and a minimum of 6 years prior NDT and/or A&P experience
  • Currently hold or able to obtain (within 1 year) an NDT Level 3 in one or more NDT methods
  • Active A&P license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with training, personnel testing and auditing NDT systems
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers
  • Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and/or Eddy Current inspection methods on various engine components to determine conformance to Overhaul and Repair Manuals and Quality Standards
  • Servicing, operating, maintaining, repairing and removing equipment
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, recommending actions to company or customer representatives while assessing product needs in accordance with customer specifications
  • Comply with all company work rules, follow safe work practices and procedures established to protect the environment, and report to supervisor all unsafe acts, hazardous conditions, and conditions which impact or have the potential to impact the environment
