About The Position

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military. As an A&P Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairs, replacement, and maintenance of key aircraft components. You'll perform the necessary checks related to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft, including the testing of and replacement of defective or faulty parts. You'll use a variety of provided tools and equipment to perform diagnosis on parts to be replaced, and ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards of work. Requirements

  • Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines
  • Base level knowledge of flightline operational schedules.
  • Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
