We are seeking a skilled and experienced Aircraft A&P Mechanic with an Inspection Authorization (IA) to join our maintenance team, focusing on our flight school. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various aircraft to ensure they comply with all safety and regulatory requirements. This position will also involve providing leadership in inspection duties, including airframe, engine, and avionics checks, and overseeing the work of other mechanics as required.

  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft, including airframe, engines, and components, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct inspections as an authorized inspector (IA), approving major repairs, alterations, and annual inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues, utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including log entries and required paperwork for FAA compliance.
  • Ensure that all work meets FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Lead or assist in the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of aircraft systems and components.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics and technicians, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and parts used in maintenance activities are properly maintained and accounted for.
  • Assist with managing inventory, ordering parts, and coordinating with the supply chain for materials as needed.
  • Stay current with FAA regulations, industry best practices, and aircraft technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certification.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 43, 145, etc.), maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Experience working with Tecnam and Cessna aircraft.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items and work in confined spaces.
