Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled A&P Mechanic to support our Fatigue Structural Unit, focusing on structural integrity, fatigue damage inspections, and aircraft life-extension programs. This role involves advanced airframe work, non-destructive testing (NDT) collaboration, and structural repairs in accordance with FAA regulations and OEM guidelines. The ideal candidate will bring precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training preferred.
  • Proficient with structural repair practices: riveting, sheet metal, composites, corrosion prevention.
  • Knowledge of fatigue behavior in aircraft structures and repair methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and OEM service bulletins related to structural issues.
  • Ability to provide tools required for the position.
  • Ability to pass required drug screening and background checks and obtain and maintain airfield access clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 4 years of A&P experience, with at least 3 years in structural repair or fatigue inspection work.
  • Experience with non-destructive testing coordination (e.g., eddy current, ultrasonic, dye penetrant).
  • Previous work in OEM, military, or MRO fatigue or structural maintenance programs.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) or structural certification(s) a plus.
  • Experience with digital maintenance systems (e.g., CAMP, TRAX, AMOS).
  • Hydraulic systems experience.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Structural test experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of aircraft structural components for signs of fatigue, cracks, corrosion, and other stress-related damage.
  • Carry out fatigue-specific maintenance and repairs on fuselage, wings, empennage, and landing gear attachment points.
  • Execute structural modifications and reinforcements in accordance with service bulletins, engineering orders, and FAA-approved data.
  • Work with Engineering and NDT personnel to identify and confirm damage or potential failure areas.
  • Remove and replace structural elements using OEM-approved techniques including riveting, bonding, and composite repairs.
  • Accurately document work performed and findings in compliance with FAA and company standards.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, structural repair manuals (SRMs), and maintenance manuals.
  • Participate in aircraft life-extension programs and fatigue life tracking initiatives.
  • Ensure all work meets strict quality control and safety standards.
