About The Position

AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Mobile, Alabama that is a global leader in propulsion systems, powering the most advanced aircraft in the world, and we are shaping the future of aviation. We are looking for an A&P Engine Mechanic who is seeking their next opportunity in a complex and ever-changing work environment! The A&P Engine Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting of customer aircraft engines in accordance with FAA regulations, company standards, and OEM specifications.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years’ aviation engine experience OR completion of technical program (i.e. ASE certification), Intern program; and/or have experience in engine replacement, diesel repair, military vehicle repair, etc)
  • Basic understanding of Disassembly, Assembly, Test (DAT).

Nice To Haves

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License OR Powerplant (P) Certificate OR 2+ years’ relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of continuous improvement principles such as Lean Six Sigma or RTX's CORE Operating System
  • Engine overhaul and repair experience, GTF and/or F117, PW2000, in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, Turbine Engine Test Operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP

Responsibilities

  • Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to perform disassembly/assembly of engines, engine modules and components
  • Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly, as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble engines and engine components using OEM manuals and FAA regulations.
  • Diagnose engine malfunctions and utilize approved procedures for corrective actions.
  • Record and document all work performed in accordance with company policy and FAA regulations.
  • Ensure parts and tooling are used in compliance with applicable standards and certifications.
  • Perform engine tests and troubleshoot performance issues using specialized equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment following OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with quality inspectors and engineers during engine work scopes and final inspections.
