About The Position

For over 40 years, Alternatives, Inc. has been dedicated to providing the best in support services to adults with Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities and Mental Illnesses. Services include Residential, Behavior Support, Support Coordination and Recreation. We have seen great growth in the past few years, which has stretched our coverage area to include Warren, Hunterdon, Morris, Union, Middlesex, Monmouth & Ocean counties. This expansion would not be possible without the dedicated staff members that make up our team. Duties of the A/P Clerk include but are not limited to the following: Write/code all accounts payable vouchers and assure proper approvals Write checks for all Agency's vendors and employees Distribute accounts payable checks for signature Maintain records of all invoices paid to vendors and employees Maintain A/P software system as well as the bank's vendor list for bill pay Design and maintain the file system for the accounting office and assure completeness of accounting records Respond to inquiries from vendors and employees regarding payments Analyze and reconcile vendors' accounts.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in processing accounts payable
  • Experience may be substituted for education
  • Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks/drug screen
  • Clear tuberculosis screening
  • A valid driver's license, no more than 5 points or DUI in last 3 years
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have had at least a first dose prior to the first day of employment
