About The Position

The À La Carte Chef is responsible for the daily execution, quality, and consistency of all à la carte dining operations within the Club’s restaurant venues. This role oversees food preparation, station management, and culinary standards to ensure an exceptional dining experience for Members, Residents, and Guests. Working closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team, the À La Carte Chef supports menu execution, staff supervision, food safety compliance, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or club kitchen
  • Prior experience in à la carte service required; country club or fine dining experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of classical cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising kitchen staff
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by Club operations
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain upon hire preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Execute all à la carte menu items to established recipes, presentation standards, and portion guidelines
  • Supervise and coordinate line cooks and kitchen staff during service to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and visual presentation
  • Monitor station readiness, prep levels, and mise en place to support smooth service operations
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and food safety regulations
  • Assist with training, coaching, and development of culinary team members
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership on daily specials, menu improvements, and seasonal offerings
  • Control food waste and support inventory management efforts
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, equipment, and storage spaces
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Assist with banquet or special event production as needed
  • Uphold the Club’s standards for professionalism, teamwork, and Member service
