About The Position

The position plays a seminal role in building process automation and business enhancements for the Company, including designing the Company’s legal operations infrastructure, selecting and implementing the Company’s inaugural contract management system and legal AI workflow technology within the organization, managing legal systems, creating data room framework and process in support of due diligence, overseeing legal technology projects and programs. This person plays a critical role in shaping and scaling the legal operations functions across the Company. This role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer. Strong project management skills, subject matter expertise, and independent judgment are necessary to identify, assess and implement efficient, cost-effective legal solutions for the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Law, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations within a fast-paced technology or healthcare environment.
  • Legal operations certification (CLOC, ACC, etc.) is required.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines, using project management tools to deliver on complex initiatives and able to 'own' and manage projects from beginning to end.
  • Project management certification (e.g., six sigma black belt) required.
  • Familiarity with working alongside various business teams including procurement, IT, HR and finance.
  • Prior experience implementing legal tech tools (e.g., CLM, data analysis, workflow automation) with hands-on experience gaining buy-in from stakeholders and implementing and optimizing these solutions.
  • Prior experience selecting and implementing legal AI solutions in a technology or healthcare company required.
  • Ability to analyze data and create reports that drive actionable insights and decision-making within the Company.

  • Ability to work independently and highly collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.

Responsibilities

  • Select and implement the Company’s inaugural contract life cycle management system, including creating automated processes for managing the contracting life cycle, managing contract analysis, negotiation, execution, renewal, and workflow optimization.
  • Build automated processes and framework for supporting due diligence, including data room creation and management, data summary and analysis of content, automated workflows for approval, entry, and user documentation.
  • Build self-serve capabilities to enable scaling of business and providing legal services, including automated approval workflows, contract template libraries, approved provisions libraries, automated template negotiation matrices.
  • Analyze, refine, and implement legal workflows to implement business enhancements, including AI tech tools, to create automated processes enabling scale and to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and reduce redundancy.
  • Build inaugural process and infrastructure for implementing and documenting legal training across the Company.
  • Create and maintain legal metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems to measure department performance and communicate insights to leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Legal Officer and other senior leaders on legal matters.
  • Champion and recommend process improvements to support the Company’s growth.
  • Take an active role in legal management, including collaborating with the Chief Legal Officer on goal-setting, communication, and solutioning to advance operational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer to develop and manage the legal department budget.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and maintain relationships with external vendors, including outside counsel, legal technology providers, and consulting firms.
  • Establish and manage internal legal knowledge repositories to promote consistency, ensure compliance, and empower the team with accessible resources.
