About The Position

The Infant/Toddler Teacher will deliver high-quality education programs to children and families under the direction of the Child Development Supervisor. This role involves implementing a curriculum based on best practices, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and coordinating services for families. The teacher will maintain progress notes on children's development, conduct family conferences, provide home-based services, and mentor staff while fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • RIDE certification preferred.
  • Experience or interest in working with children aged birth to 3.
  • Ability to organize and plan activities and establish supportive relationships with children.
  • Basic computer skills for data input and email communication.
  • Flexibility to move from site to site as needed.
  • Proven ability to interact with diverse community members.
  • Reliable automobile, valid driver's license, and auto liability insurance.
  • Must maintain CPR and first aid training.
  • Must provide documentation of medical clearance and immunization requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in early childhood education settings.
  • Knowledge of DCYF licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a curriculum based on best practice standards in collaboration with the Child Development Supervisor.
  • Ensure the classroom meets DCYF and Head Start education performance standards.
  • Maintain progress notes and electronic data on children's development.
  • Coordinate and communicate with staff and consultants regarding individual child needs.
  • Hold a minimum of three center-based family/staff conferences per academic year.
  • Provide home-based services to families, including a minimum of four home visits per month.
  • Participate in agency, program, and center meetings.
  • Provide training and supervision to the teacher assistant in the classroom.
  • Mentor newly hired Lead Teachers and ensure implementation of best practice standards.
  • Complete 30 hours of relevant training and ongoing professional development in child development and education topics.
