About The Position

As a 9th Grade Biology Regents Tutor at Bronx Leadership Academy II High School , you’ll play a vital role in supporting students as they prepare for the Biology Regents Exam. This role combines push-in classroom support during Biology instruction with small group Regents-focused tutoring , helping students strengthen content knowledge, analytical thinking, and exam readiness skills. Requirements

• Passionate about supporting high school students’ academic growth in science.
• Confident in Biology content and Regents exam preparation strategies.
• Reliable, professional, and committed to showing up every day.
• Strong communicators and collaborative team players.
• Experienced with adolescents (formally or informally) — school experience preferred, but training is provided.
• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Education, Biology, Science, or a related field.
• Able to adapt to different learning environments and student needs.
• Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide push-in classroom support during Biology instruction.
• Support teachers in delivering engaging, standards-aligned science lessons.
• Lead and facilitate small group Regents preparation sessions .
• Reinforce key Biology concepts, scientific reasoning, and vocabulary.
• Support students in analyzing data, interpreting diagrams, and constructing evidence-based written responses.
• Help manage classroom routines and foster a focused, supportive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and share observations with teachers and staff.
• Assist with organizing materials and preparing Regents-aligned instructional resources.
• Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
