About The Position

As a Customer Experience Specialist in Firearms/Sporting Goods, you are responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience in the Firearms/Sporting Goods departments. You will support a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensure an extraordinary shopping experience for our customers. You'll know which products will meet customer's needs and stay up to date on product knowledge. You will organize and maintain firearms in all locations within the store to include the Firearms Counter and Firearms Vault. You will ensure that 4473 forms are completed thoroughly and accurately as well as receiving firearms using logbooks and electronic systems. With your knowledge and helpful suggestions, customers will continue to shop the Exchange.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or the equivalent.
  • Retail experience.
  • Demonstrated willingness and potential for additional responsibility.
  • Able to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Able to think quickly on the spot to answer customer questions.
  • Able to take initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the store as needed.
  • Must possess a welcoming and helpful attitude toward customers and other team members.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Previous knowledge and experience with firearms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every customer with eye contact and smile in your authentic way.
  • Acknowledge every waiting customer as soon as they arrive to the Firearms counter/Sporting Goods department area.
  • Listen to customer needs and ask appropriate follow-up questions.
  • Ensure customers have an extraordinary experience while shopping.
  • Complete transactions accurately and efficiently while engaging customers in appropriate conversation.
  • Lead associates utilizing effective communication skills.
  • Train and mentor associates to ensure they are well-equipped to provide an exceptional shopping experience.
  • Assist in arranging space on sales floor, setting up promotional fixtures, displaying promotional merchandise, and signing.
  • Demonstrate specialty product knowledge and skills to assist and engage customers.
  • Maintain compliance with regards to safety/security/service procedures.
  • Maintain employee communication folders including communication record, time and attendance record, and job description.
  • May operate a cash register or other sales related equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
