About The Position

The Lehigh County Communications / 911 Center is accepting applications for Telecommunications Operators. This is a professional position taking 911 and other emergency calls for help from the public and dispatching those calls to the appropriate agencies. TESTING IS REQUIRED AND APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED AS TO THE DATE AND TIME OF TESTING.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work weekends, day shift, middle shift, or night shift as assigned (NO EXCEPTIONS).
  • G.E.D. or High School Diploma
  • Pass computer test with score of 85% or higher.
  • A completed COUNTY APPLICATION and a VALID EMAIL ADDRESS should be submitted for consideration
  • Pass a hearing & drug test which is required at the employee's expense.
  • Pass a Criminal History Background Check - the background check must be completely clear.
  • Employee must provide own transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Public Safety experience
  • Candidates with current 911 Certifications (CLEAN / NCIC), Medical Priority EMD, and PA State 911 Certification) may be given additional consideration when all other criteria are met.
