Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in a public contact position providing information or services.
• CPR Certification.
• First Aid Certification.
• Typing experience of at least 1 year.
• Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and gather, evaluate, prioritize, and document information from callers.
• Dispatch police, fire, and EMS field units to specific locations using a computer-aided dispatch system.
• Evaluate incoming reports of emergencies and transmit complete and accurate information to field personnel.
• Monitor and maintain the status of incidents and records of dispatched emergency service personnel.
• Receive and disseminate information from law enforcement and emergency service networks while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain familiarity with area geography and recognize hazards to public safety.
• Respond to inquiries regarding police, fire, or emergency medical services and provide appropriate referrals.
