About The Position

Life Ride EMS is seeking a dedicated and experienced EMT Field Supervisor to oversee emergency medical response operations within Essex County, NJ. The Field Supervisor will be responsible for answering emergency calls, managing EMTs during their shifts, and assisting the Tour Chief with the daily operations to ensure smooth and effective service delivery. This role offers full-time opportunities with both AM and PM shifts available on an alternating tour schedule.

Requirements

  • Valid EMT Certification (State of NJ)
  • Valid Driver’s License (New Jersey)
  • CPR Certification
  • Previous experience working as an EMT, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, protocols, and patient care.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong decision-making ability under pressure.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-stress environment.
  • Knowledge of EMS operations and protocols in the 911 emergency setting.

Nice To Haves

  • ICS 100, ICS 200, IS 700, and IS 800 Preferred
  • ICS 300, ICS 400
  • Defensive Driving, CEVO, or EVOC Certification

Responsibilities

  • Answer and respond to emergency calls for medical assistance within Essex County, ensuring timely and professional patient care.
  • Provide direct supervision and oversight to EMTs working during the shift, ensuring all staff are performing duties in compliance with operational protocols and safety standards.
  • Assist the Tour Chief in maintaining day-to-day operations, including ensuring proper staffing levels, equipment readiness, and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of EMTs, providing feedback and guidance as needed. Assist in resolving any issues that may arise during the tour.
  • Ensure that all EMTs are up-to-date with certifications and training. Assist with continuous training efforts and ensure team members comply with all safety, medical, and operational guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, crew activities, and equipment usage. Assist with incident reports and other necessary documentation.
  • Ensure that all emergency medical equipment is operational, clean, and ready for use. Report and address any maintenance issues or deficiencies.
  • Work closely with the Tour Chief and other staff members to maintain a high level of operational efficiency and ensure the quality of patient care is met.
