This is a great opportunity to join our Hall team as an Emergency Medical Technician! Work 12-hour shifts in Metro Bakersfield or consider a posting in one of our rural stations on 24-hour shifts in blocks of 2 shifts (48 hours at a time).

  • Respond to medical emergencies in the community.
  • Assess illnesses and injuries and administer basic emergency medical care.
  • Provide medical treatment to the ill and injured and manage the illness or injury during transport.
  • Prepare patients for transport via ambulance to hospital.
  • Operate emergency vehicle and equipment to care and transport the patient effectively.
  • Complete patient records and transfer of information to healthcare provider.
  • Provide compassionate patient care.
  • A National or State EMT Certification.
  • Valid driver license with an insurable record.
  • Be at least 20 years old by the time you start work.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to compassionately serve the patients in your community.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid & current State of California Certification as an EMT in good standing.
  • Valid & current Class C California Driver License.
  • Valid & current Ambulance Driver Certification and Medical Examiners Certificate; may be obtained post-offer; prior to orientation.
  • Valid & current CPR card.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly dependable; available and willing to work all assigned shifts and locations.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Computer competency including understanding of reporting programs.
  • Ability to consistently deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Knowledge of emergency medical transport procedures, facilities, and equipment.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
