About The Position

Chippewa County is seeking qualified individuals for the role of 911 Telecommunicator within the Sheriff's Department. This position involves working in a dynamic Communications Center, providing essential emergency and non-emergency services to the community. Telecommunicators will be responsible for dispatching law enforcement, EMS, and fire agencies throughout Chippewa County, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and use GPS and GIS data relating to county landmarks, roads, and businesses.
  • Ability to respond in a calm, level-headed manner during stressful situations.
  • Passion to serve the community and team members with professionalism and respect.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous emergency services dispatch experience.
  • 911 training and experience working in a 24/7 environment.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and non-emergency dispatch services to law enforcement, EMS, and fire agencies.

  • Respond calmly and efficiently in stressful situations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and the public.

Benefits
