Immediate 8th Grade Math Teacher
About The Position
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks certified teachers for our K-8 Classrooms. Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their Principal. This position is for a 8th Grade Math Lead Teacher at KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy (2525 W 1st Street) OUR CURRENT MODEL There are four “home room” teachers on each grade level who are each responsible for teaching a core subject. (For example, there are four teachers on the 8th grade team; each staff member teaches every student on that grade level for their assigned subject.) Class size is typically about 26 students per class. Subjects on each grade level include English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science. Please note within the application what grade levels and/or subject area you prefer. Relevant certification should also be indicated in the application.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in one of the following areas: 5-9 or 6-12 Math
- At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom

Nice To Haves
- Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress) if teaching English Language Arts
- ESOL Endorsement (or competency coursework in progress)
- Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom in a relevant grade level
