About The Position

Working at KIPP Inspire Academy, you’re an enthusiastic educator stoking the academic interests of students. You love math and maybe even struggled with it at school, but want to show your students how math affects them every day. You’re creating a space where they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and excelling in school. The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that fosters mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills while catering to the developmental needs of middle school students. Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, 10 months Start Date: Immediate

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree In Educatiorn or related content area ( REQUIRED )
Valid Missouri Teacher Certification or Missouri Substitute Certification or willingness to become certified ASAP ( REQUIRED )
Pass Criminal Background Check
Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap

Responsibilities

Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
Use data to inform instructional decisions
Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs
Embody and maintain school’s values, policies, and culture
Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
Establish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 students
Show up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more
Pursue challenging professional goals each year
Give and receive positive and constructive feedback from your colleagues
Participate in school-wide and individual professional development
Operate a computer and office equipment on a daily basis
Occasional moderate lifting, pushing, and pulling
Maintain emotional control under stress
Interpret policy, procedures, and data
Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
