About The Position
The 8th Grade Boys Basketball Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing the 8th-grade boys basketball team by developing players’ skills, promoting teamwork, and encouraging sportsmanship and discipline within a positive and competitive environment. Key duties include planning and conducting practices, teaching basketball fundamentals, developing game strategies, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all players in accordance with school and athletic department policies. The coach also mentors student-athletes, supports their academic success, communicates effectively with parents and school staff, and collaborates with the athletic department to maintain program standards. Strong leadership, basketball knowledge, and a passion for working with middle school students are essential for this role.
