About The Position

The 8th Grade Assistant Volleyball Coach at Lakewood Middle School is responsible for organizing and supervising the sports program, ensuring that athletes are instructed in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The coach must also serve as a role model for student athletes, promoting character development, self-discipline, and self-confidence. The position requires knowledge of athletic policies, state and league regulations, and the ability to implement these consistently. The coach will work closely with the athletic director and high school principals, supervising assistant coaches and middle school coaches, and will be involved in various administrative and public relations duties.

Requirements

• Ability to organize and supervise a sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
• Ability to serve as a role model for student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Provide documentation for state and system requirements.
• Mentor athletes in character development.
• Monitor student athletes' grades and conduct.
• Participate in budgeting and equipment management.
• Promote the sport within the school and community.
