About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience. This position is under the direction of the Nurse Manager and focuses on building competency in the provision of direct patient care. The nurse will contribute to unit activities and support the enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. The role requires teamwork and a high-energy approach, specializing in pulmonary care, mechanical ventilation liberation, and management of complex medical conditions. Patient diagnoses include acute/chronic respiratory failure, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, sepsis management, DKA, renal failure, and various neurological manifestations. The position requires full-time commitment with 12-hour shifts, including holidays and weekends, as well as on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• BSN or matriculation in BSN program preferred.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
