About The Position
The 8-month Stipend Bird Intern position at the Freeport-McMoRan Audubon Species Survival Center focuses on the care and conservation of bird species, particularly endangered cranes. This role involves hands-on experience with bird husbandry, egg handling, and participation in recovery programs for species such as the whooping crane and Mississippi sandhill crane. The intern will work closely with the Assistant Curator and will be involved in various aspects of bird care, including breeding environments and behavioral observations. The position offers a stipend and onsite housing, providing a unique opportunity to learn about avian conservation in a dedicated facility.
