About The Position

Were looking for a dynamic, student-centered educator to teach 7th and 8th grade Science using the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculum, along with one section of Middle School Physical Education(PE certification not required). This role is perfect for someone who loves hands-on learning, real-world problem solving, and building strong relationships. Training is provided for PLTW. U.S.D. 410 currently serves approximately 600 students. USD 410 is a high-performing district, earning the Commissioner's Award for six consecutive years. Our teams and activities regularly qualify for state competition, and many students advance to national-level events. We take pride in offering an environment where both students and staff can excel. USD 410 dalso collaborates through shared programs like Head Start and Parents as Teachers. These partnerships strengthen our community and help USD 410 succeed in and out of the classroom. Hillsboro is a close-knit, centrally located community with a strong tradition of supporting its schools. Educators benefit from access to a community child care center and a wide range of recreational activities, from golf and tennis to disc golf, pickleball, swimming, hunting, and fishing. The town's commitment to its schools is evident, and teachers quickly feel at home. Board of Education policies have helped maintain reasonable class sizes. Collaboration with neighboring districts has also allowed USD 410 to join the Technology Excellence in Education Network (TEEN), the Marion County Special Education Cooperative (MCSEC), and the Education Services and Staff Development Association of Central Kansas (ESSDACK), expanding opportunities and support for students and staff.
