About The Position
Coastal Welding Supply-AWG Company has an immediate opening for a Repair Technician at our gas cylinder production and distribution facility in Baytown, TX. This is an entry-level position that requires some electrical knowledge. The Repair Technician will be responsible for the loading, unloading, moving, and storing of gas and liquid cylinders, as well as other materials needed in the manufacture of medical and industrial gases. This position also involves loading cylinders for inter-branch delivery. The primary duties of the Repair Technician include installing new hardware and complex products while ensuring that they work correctly and safely. The technician will educate hardware users about the correct use and upkeep of their products, repair broken-down or damaged equipment either in the field or at a diagnostic and repair center, and assess hardware and installation functionality. They will also prepare reports about maintenance and repair work performed. Additionally, the technician will handle customer relations in a professional and friendly manner, explaining complex installation, diagnostic, and repair issues in an accessible way to a non-technical audience. Qualifications for this position include a High School Diploma or GED, the ability to read and write in English, and the physical capability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders, including lifting 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuvering 100+ pound cylinders using carts. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and prior forklift experience is desired. American Welding & Gas, Inc.
