About The Position

The Re-Design Consultant at Ethan Allen is responsible for creating personalized design solutions that align with customer preferences and budgets. This role involves engaging with customers both in the design center and through home visits to assess their needs and provide tailored design services. The consultant will utilize various marketing strategies, including social media, to promote the brand and grow the business while staying updated on design trends and coordinating with the team to ensure exceptional customer service throughout the sales process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a design-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of practical interior design experience.
  • Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
  • Working knowledge of online sales and design tools.
  • Good listening skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of social media and grassroots marketing to develop a book of business.
  • Proven experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license or an alternate means of transportation during business hours.
  • Intermediate skill competency using digital floor planning technology.
  • Experience with 3D applications is a plus.
  • Experience using interactive technology for design concepts such as augmented reality and virtual reality.
  • Willingness and capability to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Create design solutions that are consistent with the customer's preference and budget.
  • Sell Ethan Allen's products and services.
  • Represent the Ethan Allen brand in all customer interactions.
  • Greet customers in the design center to establish rapport and obtain appointments and in-home consultations.
  • Make home calls to evaluate customer needs and provide individualized design solutions that close sales.
  • Utilize grassroots marketing and social media platforms to develop and grow the business.
  • Educate customers about the complimentary design service offered by Ethan Allen.
  • Stay current on design and color trends to create fashionable design solutions.
  • Coordinate with the team to provide exceptional service to customers before and after the sale.
  • Keep customers informed of their order status, including any delays.
  • Participate in corporate-sponsored marketing and training programs as required.
  • Educate customers on Ethan Allen's finance options.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of the design center's portfolio.
  • Utilize corporate systems and technology to maximize efficiency in designing projects and providing professional service.
  • Enter orders using the retail point of sale system.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly design center projection.
  • Work with the Design Center Leader and team to develop business and marketing plans to exceed goals.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of business plans and suggest modifications as needed.
  • Utilize technology such as 3-D Room Planner and CRM to build project volume and client relationships.
  • Enhance presence on social media to promote both personal and company branding.
  • Build relationships with outside talent via social media to expand market network.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
